Origin Investments is a private multifamily real estate manager described as building, buying and lending in high-growth U.S. markets. It announced Origin Exchange, its Delaware statutory trust program for 1031 exchange investors, on May 31, 2024, and completed the platform's first DST acquisition on September 4, 2024: The Starling, a 300-unit community in northeast suburban Dallas. Class A DST communities in Nashville and Charlotte followed, and Origin acquired the 260-unit NOVEL Nona community in Orlando's Lake Nona area in December 2025. In June 2026 Origin reported approximately $140 million raised across three completed DST offerings and more than $250 million of DST deal value as of May 31, 2026.

Firm and ownership
Focus Partners describes Origin Investments as a private multifamily real estate manager focused on building, buying and lending in high-growth markets across the United States1. The firm operated as Origin Capital Partners before stating on February 24, 2016 that it would take the Origin Investments name2. In a January 5, 2023 announcement, Origin said it had entered a strategic transaction and partnership with Kovitz Investment Group and Focus Financial Partners under which Origin Investments would become a Focus subsidiary within the Kovitz group, and that the business would continue under the Origin brand with its full team, its Chicago headquarters and its investments managed by the Origin team3.
Origin Exchange DST record
Origin announced Origin Exchange on May 31, 2024 as a program giving qualified 1031-exchange investors access to institutional-quality multifamily properties4. It reported completing the platform's first DST acquisition on September 4, 2024, buying The Starling, a 300-unit multifamily community in northeast suburban Dallas5, and later stated that The Starling attracted nearly $40 million in investments from more than 40 investors who elected to use a 1031 exchange6. On May 21, 2025, Origin announced Charlotte NoDa, a 323-unit Class A community in Charlotte, as its third Origin Exchange acquisition6. In a June 9, 2026 release, Origin reported that Charlotte NoDa DST reached subscription capacity in May 2026 as a $48.5 million offering, that the 221-unit Class A Nashville community Queens Wedgewood-Houston was fully subscribed at $44.5 million, and that approximately $140 million had been raised across the three completed DST offerings7. Origin's platform page states that Origin Exchange represented over $250 million in DST deal value as of May 31, 20268.
Orlando acquisition
Crescent Communities announced on December 8, 2025 that it had sold NOVEL Nona, a 260-unit community in Orlando's Lake Nona area, to Origin Investments9. Origin identified Orlando Nona DST, announced in March 2026, as its fourth DST offering and reported that the community was 94% leased as of June 9, 20267.
