Thompson National Properties

Thompson National Properties, LLC (TNP) is a Delaware limited liability company formed in February 2008; a 2009 SEC filing identifies it as the sponsor and parent company of the advisor to TNP Strategic Retail Trust, Inc. and states that it was owned and managed by Anthony W. Thompson ¹. In a press release filed with the SEC in July 2011, TNP described itself as an international real estate advisory company specializing in creating and managing real estate investment funds and reported managing 150 commercial properties in 30 states totaling more than 19.8 million square feet for over 4,000 investor-owners ².

In a release dated September 5, 2012, TNP said it sponsored Delaware statutory trust programs for Section 1031 exchange investors and cash investors, that those programs were designed to invest in multifamily communities and credit-tenant properties, and that it had sponsored 10 DST programs for more than 500 DST investors since late 2008; the same release announced that a TNP-sponsored DST had acquired Thompson/Post Reserve Apartments, a 158-unit Class A townhome-style apartment community in Evansville, Indiana ³. Top1031 tracks 13 TNP-affiliated Delaware statutory trusts whose first SEC filings span 2009 through 2014 — two in 2009 (TNP 6700 Santa Monica Boulevard, DST and Thompson/Morgan Baton Rouge I, DST), two in 2010, five in 2011, two in 2012, one in 2013, and TNP Northgate Boise, DST in 2014 ⁴.

A hearing report of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California identifies TNP Spring Gate Plaza, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, as a Chapter 11 debtor whose petition was filed on July 10, 2020 ⁵.
