Inspired Healthcare Capital Holdings, LLC and its affiliates filed for Chapter 11 on February 2, 2026, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division. The case has 161 debtors. Thirty-one of them are Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs) the company sponsored, each a debtor in its own case.
On October 5, 2026, the court granted the debtors' motion to sell their communities "as stated on the record." Law360 reported that the approval covers 30 senior living communities for about $713 million. As of October 12, 2026, the docket shows no closing. It also shows no ruling on how sale proceeds will be split among the debtors, including the DSTs.
Timeline
- February 2, 2026. Inspired Healthcare Capital and its affiliates filed voluntary Chapter 11 petitions. The company said it had a $35 million debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing commitment and named Epiq as its claims and noticing agent. (Dkt. 620, global notes to the March operating report; company press release)
- February 6, 2026. The debtors filed a motion to set bid procedures for selling substantially all of their assets. (Dkt. 99; Dkt. 1270)

- April 13, 2026. The court entered the bid procedures order. (Dkt. 465, as recited in Dkt. 1270)
- May 14, 2026. The U.S. Trustee appointed an Official Committee of DST Investors in the cases of 31 DST debtors. (Dkt. 633)
- July 24, 2026. Judge Mark X. Mullin entered a preliminary injunction. It paused more than 100 investor arbitrations and other proceedings against the broker-dealers that sold the company's offerings and against its former CEO, until November 21 unless extended. (AltsWire; order entered in Adv. No. 26-09006) Two groups of investor claimants have appealed the order to the U.S. District Court. (Adv. Dkt. 73, 86)
- August 4, 2026. The debtors filed a notice naming stalking-horse bidders for the communities. It set an auction to begin August 25 and a sale hearing on September 15. (Dkt. 1270)
- September 10, 2026. The debtors filed notices of successful bidders after the auction. (Dkt. 1566, 1569–1572, 1574–1579)
- September 22 and 29, 2026. The sale hearing opened and was continued. Lenders, the DST Investors Committee, and the unsecured creditors' committee had objected. (Dkt. 1720–1722; AltsWire)
- October 5, 2026. The court held the hearing on the sale motion and granted it "as stated on the record." (Dkt. 1869) Law360 reported $713 million for 30 communities, with objections over how the proceeds will be handled left for another day.
- October 7–9, 2026. The debtors filed notices of final sale order. Several lenders objected to them. (Notices: Dkt. 1899–1907, 1910, 1916. Objections: Dkt. 1912, 1913, 1914, 1917) As of October 12, no sale order appears as entered on the docket. UMB Bank's October 9 filing is a limited objection to entry of the sale order. (Dkt. 1917)
What this means for DST investors
Each of the 31 trusts is a debtor in its own bankruptcy case. The cases are jointly administered under No. 26-90004. (Dkt. 633)
DST investors have their own official committee, appointed by the U.S. Trustee. Its counsel are Holland & Knight LLP and Kane Russell Coleman Logan PC. (Dkt. 633; Dkt. 1270, p. 5)
The debtors' motion asks to sell the communities free and clear of liens, claims and interests. (Dkt. 99; Dkt. 1270) In August, lenders objected that the sale contracts did not say how proceeds would be split between the DST entities that hold title and the companies that operate the communities. The DST Investors Committee objected on how proceeds will be allocated among the debtors. Both were reported by AltsWire. The unsecured creditors' committee asked that no sale order decide the split between each DST debtor and its master-tenant debtor, and that proceeds be held in escrow until the court rules. (Dkt. 1640) Law360 reported that objections over how the proceeds will be handled were left for another day.
As of October 12, 2026, the docket shows no closing and no allocation ruling. It also shows no distribution to DST investors. (Epiq docket)
No successful-bidder notice on the docket names a community for IHC - Peachtree DST or Inspired Senior Living of St. Petersburg DST. (Dkt. 1566, 1569–1572, 1574–1579)
Notices, claim forms and filings are posted on the Epiq case site.
The 31 DSTs in the case
Each trust and case number comes from the U.S. Trustee's committee appointment (Dkt. 633, Exhibit A). Communities are named in the debtors' sale notices (Dkt. 1270; Dkt. 1566, 1569–1572, 1574–1579). We matched each trust to the community in the same city.
