Why do Top1031's totals differ from Mountain Dell Consulting's?
Top1031 counts the amounts sold that each offering reports in its SEC Form D filings, dated to the filing. Mountain Dell Consulting is an industry research firm whose monthly figures the trade press reports. The two series measure different things, so their totals differ: an offering that never amends its Form D shows nothing sold in the filing record, which makes the Form D total the floor the public record can prove. Neither figure is an estimate by Top1031.
